A buttweld tee is a type of pipe fitting used to combine or divide fluid flow in a piping system, featuring a T-shaped design with one inlet and two outlets arranged at 90 degrees to the main line. It is manufactured from seamless or welded pipes and joined to the piping system through butt welding, ensuring a strong, leak-proof connection. Buttweld tees are available in equal (straight) and reducing types—equal tees have all three ends of the same diameter, while reducing tees connect pipes of different sizes. Made from materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steel, buttweld tees are widely used in industries like oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, and water treatment. They offer high strength, corrosion resistance, and a smooth inner surface that promotes efficient flow with minimal pressure loss.
